Last week I announced that I was so very excited, but I didn’t give a clue why and I’m sure there were more than a few people wondering if my account had been hacked or if finally, after so many years of false starts, I went completely around the bend and landed myself well and truly into the loony bin. Well, I can assure you that my account was not hacked (unless you got a message from me claiming I’ve been mugged in England and cannot get home. If so, call me… I love a good laugh!) , and I have once again thwarted those best efforts of the men in white coats and butterfly nets! So, what’s the surprise? Why have I been so excited? I’m glad you asked!
Today (or night, depending on where in the world you are located) I’m unveiling my new website! OK, you’ve got me… the site isn’t new, but the look is! I love this new look and can’t wait to dive in and really make a mess of it. You think I’m kidding? I am the only person I know whose iTunes account actually ate their music – no kidding, it did! So, am I truly that anxious to get behind the scenes of something that my wonderful friend and sister Anita Dugan-Moore created? Yeah, you’re right, I’d better let her handle it for a while – thanks for pulling me back to reality!
So, to celebrate the unveiling of my website’s make over as well as Valentine’s Day, I’m going to do something I don’t think I’ve ever done. Are you ready? I’m giving away two sets of The Rain Song and Going to California – one for you and one for a special someone of your choosing! From now until the end of Valentine’s Day (which is tricky because, c’mon, I’m in a totally different time zone than the end of the day!) you can enter by going to www.janicegrove.com . Look around the site a bit and then click the Contact Janice button on the left to send me an email with your name and who you would like to give a set to… and why. I bet you’re wondering why I want to know “why,” right? Simple. This will be your gift to this person and I will make sure you get the credit for it (unless you’re a secret admirer and then that will be noted too). Everyone wants to know they’re special to someone, isn’t it even better if they have a reason why you think so too? Exactly!
Whew! Okay, so I’m excited, how about you? *I’m sorry, what? Really, I need to say that… but they already know! Fine!* I will even toss in my standard, “If the mailman delivers, you can enter!” motto so everyone has a chance! *Oh, come on! Really?* Sorry about that, but I’ve been reminded that I haven’t specifically said that should you not have a ‘special someone,’ you can still enter and the second set can (and will) be sent to a library/shelter/charitable organization/overseas military personnel of your choice (but you already knew that… right?). Well? Quit staring at the crazy lady and get to entering, I want to see who I’m sending these sets to!
